This six-week course will cover foundational skills and the main principles of watercolour painting.

You will discover;

• How to use different brushes to create different marks and washes, and fundamental techniques such as ‘wet-on-wet’ and

  ‘wet-on-dry                                

• How watercolour paint and paper interact with each other 

• Practice tonal painting and mark-making

• Composition

• Further techniques such as sgraffito, salt, resists, and masking fluid as well as other tips and tricks to make your paintings come alive

•  Create series a of small sketches, then go on to create a finished painting

•  Simple colour theory and mixing, as well as layering
