Working directly from a still life we will be taking inspiration from painter William Nicholson and his wonderful interplay of light and dark, reflections in objects, and how to create metallic effects using a simple colour palette.
We will look at how to compose a still life, beginning by producing sketches to help decide on layout, placing and perspective. We will then move onto the canvas, looking at tone, light and dark values, colour and detail, and discovering how light creates the form!
Small classes in a fun and relaxed environment set in our beautiful, beach garden, classroom.
All materials are provided, though do feel free to bring your own brushes should you prefer to use them.
Nb: Although we always use low odour solvents, please be aware that due to the nature of the paints, there will be some odours present.
Cost: £260 (includes all materials)
