We recognise that art plays a major part in aiding mental health and wellbeing. It can help to boost confidence and make us feel more engaged and resilient.

The Colour Factory Artists have worked for many years providing an arts resource for all sections of the community with a particular interest in the benefit of creativity and positive mental health. They have proved through their practice that art engagement alleviates anxiety, depression, and stress. Their workshops are designed to help build up a bank of resources for future wellbeing and boosting self-esteem.

For many people, coming to The Colour Factory to partake in art workshops is often their only respite away from major stresses. Focusing on creativity while making friends and finding a support network waiting for them is invaluable

Recent projects away from the studio include a series of art interventions with young people from CAMHS Fareham in collaboration with NHS UK and Hampshire Cultural Trust. Working around themes of self-expression relating to processing and unlocking feelings, through colour, pattern & texture produced amazing outcomes both in finished artwork, new friendships, pride and confidence.
