Feeling stuck in a rut with your painting and wanting to free up and explore painting with abstraction?
This workshop will give you an insight into one of the most exciting periods in modern art – abstract expressionism in New York in the 1950’s. Rosie will introduce you to a variety of techniques and processes used by artists at that time, give you historical context for the processes and lead you into exploring a variety of mediums. All you need is a note book and some lunch. All materials and refreshments are provided. The class will take place in the garden and the teaching space. Please dress in comfortable clothes and footwear so that you don’t mind getting them splattered etc. This is a good opener to Rosie’s evening class – “Painting with Abstraction”.
A small friendly class with only five places available. All abilities are welcome .
