Decorative Arts Painting Course

6 week courses starting Wednesday 13 th February 2008 . 7.00pm – 9.00pm

Learn the timeless skills and techniques of the professional decorative artist. This will involve basic preparation and groundwork through to different methods of decorative paintwork including craquelure and gilding tocreate decorative objects for the home.

You will be provided with a small wooden blank to work on and will be encouraged to compile practice samples and recipes to take home with you. Basic materials are provided. Additional materials can be bought through your tutor.

This course is suitable for both beginners and for those with some experience.

Tutor Rachael Alexander is a professional artist with years of experience working in the field of Decorative Arts.

Price : £100 for six week course including basic materials.

Creative Jewellery Birthday Parties

Suitable for a group of adults or children aged 9 years and up

Party goers will make a beautiful item of jewellery from felt and glass beads under the guidance of professional artists. You will create handmade felt beads from a selection of beautifully coloured wools, threading them along with colourful glass beads to create necklaces, bracelets or earrings.

We can cater for up to 10 people at £15 per person (minimum 5). The party lasts two hours.

In Summer 2008 we will have a fantastic new educational building in our garden and will be organising a wide programme of workshops run by professional artists.

We will be advertising classes in Spring 2008 covering a range of skills such as jewellery, textiles, mixed media, and painting. Please email if you would be interested in hearing about forthcoming workshops and classes and any particular classes you would like to see taking place.

Children’s Saturday Art Club - Summer 2008

Saturdays 10.30- 12.30 a class for budding artists with professional tuition from Colour Factory Artists and numbers limited to only 10 children. Six week classes during term time for 8 to 11 year olds to start summer 2008. Please email or call us if you are interested in a place on this course.
