Painting – Developing a Personal Language

Loading Events

This course is designed to support and develop individual projects, with the addition of exercises in drawing and painting, as well as demonstrations from the teacher. Most students taking this course have some experience in drawing and painting. Students work in a sketchbook and study the paintings of artists that interest them in detail and take these skills into personal projects. These vary from still life studies, location visits to art work based on memories. Using her own practice as a teaching method these classes are a unique opportunity to explore avenues in painting.   There is a morning and afternoon session to choose from and the course last for 6 weeks. The classes are small and friendly with lots of individual support where peer friendships develop. The groups tend to return term after term and this does lead to confident personal skills in painting.  Students have the opportunity to submit work into The Colour Factory “Summer Show” in July.
